You have all the wisdom within you to birth your baby, but sometimes we are out of touch with it…

i’m here to remind you of that wisdom.

Marissa Peterson, birthkeeper and future midwife in Whatcom, WA.

meet marissa

Hi, I’m Marissa. Mother. Doula (Birth and Postpartum). Birthworker. Childbirth Educator.

Birth is normal, but because we are so removed from it, that can feel hard to believe and see. I’m here to help birthing folks discover their innate power and wisdom; to be a reminder we all have it within us to give birth.

Feeling centered in your pregnancy and birth experience is vital to how we begin our parenting journey. If you are nurtured, supported, and trusted during this transformative time you're setting yourself up with the confidence and wisdom you need to parent.

My role is to help you remember you are wise, and that you know what is best for you. I want you to believe in yourself. To trust yourself.

kind words

"My husband and I worked with Marissa as our doula for our first pregnancy and baby and couldn’t have been happier. During the whirlwind birth Marissa held space, provided guidance, and offered physical support as a backup to my husband. As an anxious person I found the most value in her support leading up to the birth. It was so incredible to have someone I could text/email questions to instead of scaring myself to death on google. I appreciated her knowledge, advice, and perspective so much! She has a grounded, down to earth energy and an appreciation for simplicity and the power of our bodies. I consider her a friend to this day and would highly recommend her services. We also were fortunate to have her as our teacher in the birth education classes we took.”
